Future, Trippie Redd, Young Dolph and More: Bangers This Week
It's been a long week in hip-hop, rife with more downs than ups. There's a lot of love being shown to fallen rapper, entrepreneur and philanthropist Nipsey Hussle, a beautiful sendoff for an accomplished man. The culture of hip-hop remains strong and steadfast in this tough time. New music is rolling in. Enjoy this week's song roundup.
Future tends to release loose songs for his true fans through his YouTube account. His latest surprise is "Be Encouraged," a slow-paced banger featuring Metro Boomin production. There's no telling which era Future recorded this in, but the song is hard, with Hndrxx working some of his older flows over a dark beat. Future and Metro remain a great duo.
One rapper who hasn't let up at all over the past year? Trippie Redd. He's back with a new song, "Murder," which mixes the bounce of the modern rap sound with an organ, over which threats from Trippie abound. Hopefully, he keeps the new music coming and links with some of his newer supporters.
When you become one of the more popular rappers from your city, it's important to remember those who came before you. Young Dolph, the proclaimed King of Memphis, taps some hometown hall-of-famers for the remix to "By Mistake," which originally appeared on Role Model. Now featuring Juicy J and Project Pat, the track becomes an M-Town party, with two new additions finding their lane. A cool move by Dolph and a good look for Memphis.
This week also features music from Tory Lanez, Q Money, K Camp and more. Catch them all below.
