It looks like Future just added a fresh face to his Freebandz movement. On Friday it was announced that the Purple Reign artist has signed Georgia native Steelo Steezy to his label and that we can expect to hear some new Steezy very soon.

Steelo is a 23-year-old rapper who's generated a big buzz even though he's yet to release a a mixtape. That, apparently, is what convinced Future to sign the young artist and take him under his wing. Armed with effortless charisma and a melodic tone, Steezy has earned early comparisons to Drake. A quick listen to his Metro Boomin-produced track "We Did It" makes it easy to understand the comparison, and just why Steezy will fit right in at Freebandz.

Although this signing seems somewhat out of nowhere, it appears that Steezy has been working with Freebandz for a while now. Young Scooter is actually his brother, so it's easy to see where the connection comes from. His signing just makes it official.

Steezy doesn't have a project out, but based on what we've heard, that's going to change soon. Steezy reportedly spends up to 15 hours a day in the studio, so there's even a chance he's already collaborated with Future himself. We'll have to wait and see.

In the mean time, keep it locked with XXL for more updates on Steezy, Future, Lil Scooter and the rest of the Freebandz label.
