Fetty Wap Reps RGF on New Track “Island Boy”
Fetty Wap has been churning out records. His latest offering is "Island Boy," an aggressive, boastful, three-minute track perfect for cruising around the city.
"Hundreds in my pocket, make it fit/Island boy, I'm really with the shits/Prolly on an island with his bitch," the Remy Boyz leader spits over a booming, energetic instrumental, similar to many of the beats Fetty chooses. No word on whether "Island Boy" will appear on an upcoming Fetty project. For now, you can enjoy the loosie below, courtesy of SoundCloud.
In other Fetty Wap-related news, the Paterson, N.J. native recently spoke with XXL about a number of different topics, including his sophomore album King Zoo, upcoming collaborations with Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg and Jadakiss, and how he turned $1.3 million into $20 million.
Zoovier opened up about his album delay, describing why he pushed it back and how he's trying to bring back the original Fetty sound that people fell in love with in 2015.
"The reason for the delay is me. It wasn’t nobody else," he says. "It wasn’t a conflict between me and 300 [Entertainment]. It wasn’t a conflict between me and RGF [Productions]. It was no conflict at all. It was just me not being satisfied, you know what I mean? I feel like my first album was good because peoples was ok with the songs I had out. Now it’s more like, what songs can you make, you feel me?"
Fetty continues, "So I wanted to make songs for them, so instead of doing like the average 12-song album, I did 25 songs on the album. It’s gonna be a lot of that Fetty Wap sound for you. A lot of the sound that I missed in 2016, is gonna be on the 2017 album. So I just want to bring people up to date and rock out with it."
