Eminem’s New Album Is Finished, According to Denaun Porter
Update (Oct. 7, 10:55 p.m. EST):
Denaun Porter has since clarified that he was just "trolling the trollers" in his recent livestream video. "They trolled the shit out of me the whole time," he tells Complex. "Anytime they come in there, they can expect to get trolled with any kind of question like that. I'm never the person to give up that kind of information. I might say, 'Hey, we're working on it' or 'Hey, we're close.' But I'm never going to be the guy that gives up the information. But they can get trolled."
Original Story:
It's been awhile since we last heard anything about a new Eminem album, but according to longtime collaborator Denaun Porter, the project is finally finished.
"Am I working on Eminem's new album?" Porter asked viewers during a recent Instagram livestream. "No, we are done. How about that?" The producer didn't reveal any further details about the album but did call it "amazeballs."
In July, 2 Chainz spoke about Em's upcoming project, revealing he had worked with the Detroit rapper on the album. During an interview with DJ Drama on Shade 45, Tit said Shady wanted him to redo a hook for the new album, but 2 Chainz had something else in mind.
According to 2 Chainz, he told Eminem he wanted to do more than a hook, so Em offered him the chance at a remix, but that was also a no. “I tell him straight up… 'Eminem, what would you need a remix for? Remixes are used to carry records to No. 1 spots. When have you ever did a remix for someone or for yourself?' That’s cap at it’s finest,” Tity Boi said.
2 Chainz said he then got to write a verse for the song, and the two eventually finished recording it.
The last time Shady himself teased the project was last year when he released "Campaign Speech." At the time, the rapper tweeted, "Don't worry I'm working on an album! Here's something meanwhile."
