Since J. Cole announced the Revenge of the Dreamers III album back in January, fans have been on 10 with anticipation. Then there were the golden tickets, the massive Motown-like studio sessions in Atlanta and the XXL cover story. After the initial targeted April release date came and went, it looks like we might be getting new music from Cole's crew of J.I.D, EarthGang, Bas, Cozz, Lute, Omen and Ari Lennox sooner than later.

The buzz began on Friday (June 7) when both Bas and EarthGang tweeted about the album's status. Curiously, they both posted about the upcoming LP at exactly 7:20 p.m. "NEW DREAMERS MUSIC DROPPING NEXT WEEK BABYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY," the Atlanta duo posted.

"ROTD3 dropping soon as the Harry Belafonte vocals come in," Bas typed, followed by a retweet of EarthGang's message. "But y’all thought I was cappin," he quipped.

On Saturday (June 8), Omen added more fuel to the fire with the tweet, "ROTD3."

Lute got in on the action as well. Atlanta rapper Deante Hitchcock tweeted, "Heard it’s almost revenge season. #ROTD3," which earned a retweet from Lute.

The Dreamville roster teamed up with over 100 artists and producers to put together the Revenge 3 project. Cole first revealed it was initially slated to drop in the spring during a Q&A YouTube chat session. "ROTD is being finished right now, post-production shit," he wrote. "Tracking out songs, sequencing then editing, then we gotta mix. We're shooting for April."

Clearly, we didn't get the highly-anticipated project then, but it looks like ROTD3 might finally be on the way.
