Drake Brings Out Tory Lanez, Migos and More at 2017 OVO Fest
For years now, Drake's annual OVO Fest has been the summer destination for those expecting a mixture of awesome music, electric performances and outright unpredictability. The 2017 OVO Fest was no different, as Toronto's favorite son engaged the crowd with live renditions of his own tracks before having his formal arch-rival Tory Lanez pop up on stage. Peep bits of that moment for yourself below.
As we've mentioned, Drizzy and Lanez have had their problems in the past, but they squashed their beef this past spring, thus opening up the possibility of Lanez materializing at this year's OVO Fest. With that in mind, it's easy to see why the Toronto crowd was ecstatic when the rapper showed up to perform his remix of Drizzy's "Controlla." For his part, Drake momentarily reflected on their beef before going on to speak on the quality of his former nemesis' character.
"Me and this guy right here. We had problems with each other, we had never even met each other. I met the man, and he's a great guy," Drizzy told the crowd. Needless to say, it was quite the moment.
Also performing at the 2017 OVO Fest were OVO Sound's PartyNextDoor, Roy Woods, Majid Jordan and dvsn, as well as Migos, Playboi Carti and Cardi B. For their part, Migos electrified the audience when they popped up onstage to perform "Bad and Boujee" and "T-Shirt," continuing what's been a massive year for their clique. Travis Scott showed up to turn in a live rendition of "Butterfly Effect" before launching into a performance of "Goosebumps."
Drizzy injected the night with even more excitement when he brought out Cardi B to perform her new hit single, "Bodak Yellow," which he called “the hottest song out." Salute to Cardi.
