Drake Blames Illness for Postponed Miami Shows
Drake is one of the hardest working men in show business, but his body recently told him he needed a break. The 6 God postponed this weekend's Aubrey and the Three Migos Tour stops in Miami and he has since revealed it was due to him falling ill.
The rapper initially broke the news to fans on Friday (Sept. 21). He also canceled appearances at the nightclubs E11even and LIV. Production issues were cited as the reason the shows had to be pushed back but Drizzy has since offered another reason. Reaching out to fans via his Instagram Story, Drake kept it 100.
"I just wanted to say how sorry I am about these two Miami shows," he started. "I got so ill so fast and I had never experienced anything like that in my life. Unlike other show cancellations or date adjustments due to production issues this one fell on me and I just want to apologize because I hate letting anyone down, anyone who comes to share these moments with us. Thank you to the two doctors and nurse that helped me with 'round the clock care. Miami deserves 100 percent and I promise that experience when we return. Thank you God for allowing me to recover and continue. On we go!"
The concerts will be rescheduled on Nov. 13 and Nov. 14.
This isn't the first time the massive tour has suffered setbacks. The tour was supposed to kick off on July 26 but had to be postponed as a "necessary decision," according to a spokesperson for the rapper. After the tour got started, a stop in Toronto had to be postponed as well. The tour is scheduled to run through Nov. 17, closing out in Atlanta.
