Twenty years removed from their intrepid debut album, Dr. Octagon, a trio comprised of Kool Keith, Dan the Automator and DJ Qbert, plot their return. Earlier this month, the clique dropped off their new song "Octagon Octagon," a cut from their newly announced second album Moosebumps: An Exploration Into Modern Day Horripilation.

Following in the footsteps of an album called Dr. Octagonecologystthe first track from Moosebumps includes every bit of the eccentric vibes of the trio's first offering. It begins with a cartoonish news reporter announcing the return of Dr. Octagon, who quickly pops up with all sorts of semi-free associative bars relating to his rap name.

"I was writing octagon in an octagon hat/With octagon underwear taking an octagon bath/With octagon soap, my octagon motorcycle made/By octagon bikes/Stand up late in octagon heights living that octagon life/Wiping the girls off with octagon baby wipes/Using the octagon washing machine to dry," Kool Keith raps on the new track.

The beat for the track includes some almost ghostly vocal samples and some scratches at the very end. If you were waiting on the return of Dr. Octagon, which is a moniker for Kool Keith's fictional, alien surgeon, you can't be disappointed with their first offering in quite some time.

Dr. Octagon's latest project drops on on April 6, but you can stream Moosebumps: An Exploration Into Modern Day Horripilation on NPR right now.
