Doe Boy, Signed To Future’s Freebandz Label, Gets 18 Months In Prison
Doe Boy, the Cleveland-based rapper signed to Future's Freebandz imprint, was busted on an aggravated robbery and sentenced to 18 months in prison, his manager confirmed. Doe's last mixtape, In Freebandz We Trust presented by Future, dropped June 24. with features from RiFF RAFF, Soulja Boy and Rocko and the likes of Young Chop, Zaytoven and Lex Luger behind the boards.
Doe was apparently home in Cleveland in February when he was involved in the robbery of another individual, and was found with a gun and the stolen items on his person, according to his manager. A #FreeDoeBoy hashtag has been spreading around Twitter since his sentencing earlier this week.
What this means for Doe's label deal with Freebandz isn't totally certain, although the tentative plan is to continue releasing music and mixtapes while he's locked up. "They just trying to keep it poppin' while he's gone," his manager said.
