DJ Carnage Teases Posthumous XXXTentacion Collaboration
Another posthumous XXXTentacion song is making the rounds, but under unclear circumstances. The latest teaser is DJ Carnage, who today (Aug. 29) posted on Instagram a snippet of "Voss," a collaboration with X and Houston's Sauce Walka.
The track, a distorted bass-heavy bruiser, features the slain rapper on the hook, comparing his diamonds to the eponymous glass water bottle company. "I'm dripping sauce/Water like Voss/My diamonds water like Voss/Look I cannot take a loss," X raps, while peppering in a healthy dose of ad-libs.
The song appears on Sauce Walka's mixtape Drip God. The tape is listed for pre-order on iTunes with an expected drop date of Aug. 31, the same date Datpiff's website claims the tape will drop. However, Amazon Music appears to have released the project on Aug. 7, and it was uploaded to LiveMixtapes on Aug. 20.
"Voss" adds to the list of XXXTentacion releases since he was fatally shot in Deerfield Beach, Fla. on June 18. He also posthumously dropped a haunting music video on June 28 for his ? single "Sad!," which surged to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the days following his death, and appeared with Quavo and Ski Mask The Slump God on Trippie Redd's song "Ghostbusters" released on June 21.
Several other artists have teased unreleased XXXTentacion music this month. Lil Pump posted on Instagram a clip of a dancehall collaboration with Jahseh, allegedly titled "Arms Around You," and ILoveMakonnen has said that a collaboration between X and the late Lil Peep titled "Falling Down" is "coming ASAP."
Meanwhile, four suspects have been indicted for the alleged roles in XXXTentacion's death. The cases are ongoing. The rapper's mother also recently shared the news that an unnamed woman is expecting X's son.
