Dame Dash Sues Ex-Wife for $2.5 Million
It's been a rough year for Dame Dash. The co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records is currently embroiled in a series of legal disputes, but the one that undoubtedly hits closest to home is his contentious divorce from ex-wife Rachel Roy. Now, TMZ reports, the animosity has bled out from personal grievances into the business side of things. Dame is suing Roy for some $2.5 million alleging that she is guilty of breach of contract and interfering with cash distributions that were due to him in relation to Royale Etenia LLC and Topson Downs, two fashion companies which the couple founded together. Dame's lawsuit was filed yesterday (April 23), three days after he lost custody of his three children to Roy.
Dash will also be heading to court over Loisaidas, the film he produced with Kanye West, in which Dame himself stars. A Latin music group from New York is suing the pair, claiming that they have been using the name, and that the subject matter of the film tarnishes their professional reputation. It isn't all bad for Dash, though, as he and 'Ye recently purchased the ailing clothing company Karmaloop. Stay tuned to XXL for up-to-the-minute details on Dash's legal matters as they continue to unfold.
