Common nobody smiling anticipated albums

Common has been producing higher quality work since linking back up with No I.D. in 2011. That unfortunately hasn't translated into higher sales numbers. After pushing 69,000 copies of 2011's The Dreamer/The Believer in its first week, Nobody's Smiling debuts at No. 6 with 23,000 copies sold. It's held out of the top 5 spot by three of the same albums that occupied it last week: Weird Al Yankovic's Mandatory Fun, Disney's Frozen soundtrack and Kidz Bop 26. 5 Seconds of Summer, a pop punk band, took the top spot with its debut album.

Trey Songz's Trigga debuted at No. 1, but it won't be finishing its debut month in the top 10 after falling to No. 12 with 15,000 copies sold this week. Michael Jackson's posthumous Xscape fell four spots to No. 34 with 8,000 sold and John Legend drops three places to No. 44 with 6,4000 copies sold.

This week wasn't a total loss in hip-hop and R&B though. Pharrell Williams' G I R L saw a 21 percent sales increase and stepped up to land at No. 39. Iggy Azalea's The New Classic had a 7 percent decrease, but her debut still climbed to No. 17.

Lastly, August Alsina's Testimony makes a welcome to the Top 50 at No. 43 with 6,725 units sold.
