Earlier this afternoon, Chris Brown and his bodyguard rejected a plea deal that would have found both guilty of simple assault stemming from their involvement in an alleged altercation that occurred outside the W Hotel in Washington DC this past October.

The lawsuit's latest hearing began today (Jan. 8), and the judge has scheduled a follow-up appearance for Feb. 20, which will be Brown's third for this case. Considering the courthouse was overwhelmed with the amount of fans who showed up to support the singer for his first hearing, officials made sure to take extra safety precautions for the second time around, hiring armed US Marshalls to guard the hearing room.

The crooner is still on probation from his infamous incident with Rihanna in 2009, and will face jail-time if convicted for his latest misdemeanor charges.
