Boston rapper Jerry Spatch created a new card game that can turn you into a freestyle rapper. Spatch is currently running a Kickstarter campaign for Vers: The Rap Game, a card game featuring 400 category and base rhyme cards that allow players to freestyle with the combined concepts.

"I was tired of people in university saying I shouldn't rap because it was unprofessional," Spatch said. "Everywhere I went, when people heard about rap, they'd think of a bunch of things that it wasn't. So I made the game, and it's fun and silly and everyone can play it."

Spatch, an entrepreneurship student at Northeastern University, is looking to raise $10,000 in order to fund the first round of production for his game. The fundraising campaign has already brought in over $5,000 and will conclude on May 24. If all goes as planned, the game will begin shipping to the Kickstarter's contributors in September.

The Boston rapper does not anticipate any major delays. Intellectual property, designs, content, manufacturing and fulfillment have all been settled by Spatch's start-up company Spatch Games. Spatch Games, which won Northeastern's Husky Start-up Challenge, teamed up with Northeastern University's student-led design studio for the packaging and card design.

Check out a sample of the card game and watch a video about how to play the game below. If you like what you see, make sure to pledge to the Kickstarter. $25 gets you a copy of the game.
