There's an artist out of Wollongong, Australia whose drawings of hip-hop artists have garnered attention worldwide. His name is Corey, but he's known as Tw1tter Picasso or Ballpoint Papi in the social media space.

Corey's over-the-top, caricature-like renderings have earned him a following of over 100,000 between his Instagram and Twitter accounts over the past six months. His drawings of Chris Brown with his forehead stretched back to no end and Nicki Minaj's raunchy Paper Magazine cover are so hilarious, you almost forget they could be utterly offensive to the stars he's recreating.

Earlier this month, his artwork went viral after a Twitter user found his caricatures amusing and shared them with her followers. "this had me rolling 😂😭😭😭," she wrote, along with Corey's versions of Offset, Chris Brown, Ty Dolla $ign and 6lack. Her post has been retweeted more than 37,000 times.

While speaking to XXL, the artist's humor comes across in the conversation as he details how he got his start. "I’ve been drawing since I could remember," Corey shares. "Mum said when she was pregnant with me she got an ultra sound, and there was actually cave paintings showing up in the womb. I started up on Twitter though because the janitor at my school suggested it—he’s a big part of my success. He still helps me from time to time, shout out to @smokingdiick!"

His Instagram captions are equally gut-busting. For his drawing of PnB Rock—whom he drew with an extensively long neck—he writes, "@pnbrock fan art (this is actual life size to pnbrock! these sheets of paper are 6ft long each. The shading alone on the neck Tatts took me 2 years! I used the ink of approximately 207 black ballpoint pens making this)."

When asked about his thought process while creating the captions to go along with his art, Ballpoint Papi keeps it real. "I like to make people laugh and I know some of the stories ain’t true like how I shaded a drawing in two weeks. Like obviously that isn’t true because no one can draw that good in that short amount of time."

Corey's hip-hop portrayals have turned people's days around, as thousands of his fans visit his page to view his latest drawings daily. "The best thing from this whole thing is when people tell me how they’re struggling with life and come to my page to laugh," he adds. "I get a lot of people hating on my drawings as well, but as long as my page can make people having a hard time happy then it doesn’t matter to me."
