Anderson .Paak and Flying Lotus Have New Music on the Way Together
It looks like Flying Lotus and Anderson .Paak have at least one collaboration in their stash of unreleased gems. The two West Coast stalwarts confirmed their collab on Twitter yesterday (Jan. 9).
The revelation came after one Twitter user tweeted at the two artists, demanding that they work together. "The world needs an @AndersonPaak and @flyinglotus track. Maybe throw a little Captain Murphy on there for good measure," the user wrote in a tweet. Flying Lotus and .Paak responded a short time afterward.
For his part, FlyLo offered a simple but tantalizing response, tweeting back, "It exists. Soon!" .Paak in turn responded to FlyLo's tweet, writing back, "They not ready!!!"
The two artists didn't offer up anything else in the way of details regarding their alleged collaboration, but with .Paak's soulful vocals and FlyLo's experimental production, it isn't hard to see why a track featuring both of their talents is such a good idea. We hope they drop the collab soon.
Speaking of collabs, .Paak and Knxwledge—under their group name NxWorries—recently dropped a striking new visual for "Sidepiece," a track from their album, Yes Lawd! The video finds the two artists knee-deep in one of their typical studio sessions as animated words float across the screen and Knxwledge's instrumental blends seamlessly with Paak's vulnerable baritone. You can peep the new video here.
