6lack Returns With Anti-Valentine’s Day Track “Cutting Ties”
6lack reappears setting the tone for what should be a busy 2018 campaign for the Atlanta rap-crooner. The 25-year-old lets everyone know he is doing just fine by himself this Valentine's Day with the heartless "Cutting Ties."
The Free 6lack artist made the announcement of his new track's Feb. 14 release date on Instagram. "If you have a valentine good for you, if you don’t this for you," he wrote. The soulful crooner closed out 2017 hopping on Timbaland's "Grab the Wheel," which made for a tuneful collaboration and left the fans wanting more from the lethal combination.
This time, 6lack warns potential love interests of his cold-hearted tactics when "Cutting Ties." The "Prblms" artist croons over OZ's icy production, "Either way I gotta go, woah, oh, yeah/When it comes to cutting ties, girl, I'm like a pro, woah, woah/I tell you what you wanna know, oh, woah/You're prolly better on your own."
The former Valdosta State University student created waves in the industry with his critically-acclaimed 2016 debut, Free 6lack. Fans are patiently awaiting his highly anticipated follow up. Back in November of 2017, the ATLien postponed his European tour to focus on fatherhood and finishing his album.
"Cutting Ties" serves as the loner's anthem this Valentine's Day and could be cathartic for those who recently severed a relationship.
