6ix9ine May Be Forced to Register as a Sex Offender and Serve Jail Time for Sexual Misconduct Case
6ix9ine's legal battles continue. According to a report The Blast published today (Aug. 9), the rapper could now be forced to register as a sex offender and serve time behind bars.
The celebrity news site claims that a Manhattan District Attorney argues that by getting arrested in Brooklyn and Houston after he accepted a plea deal for use of a child in a sexual performance in 2015, Tekashi has violated the terms he agreed to when he accepted said deal. Now, the D.A. is apparently suggesting the controversial rapper serves between one to three years in prison and that he registers as a sex offender.
Additionally, prosecutors have sent the judge a letter saying that the rapper's pattern of behavior disproves the notion that sexual acts with a minor were just a one-off situation.
As referenced by the D.A., 6ix9ine was arrested for an incident that took place in Houston in January 2018, in which a 16-year-old boy claims Tekashi assaulted him in a mall. He was also arrested back in May in his native Brooklyn for driving without a license and allegedly assaulting a police officer.
This revelation arrives two weeks after 6ix9ine was allegedly beaten and robbed in Brooklyn. Speaking on the matter in an interview with Angie Martinez, the rapper explained that he feared for his life.
"I see the gun in the side mirror. I see the gun and I freeze. Like, my whole heart just went to my stomach. I'm like, 'They got me.'" Tekashi said during the interview, recalling the moment he was approached by gunmen. "I'm talking all this shit and they got me."
A judge decided to postpone a decision on Tekashi's fate until next month. He's reportedly due back in court on Oct. 2.
