Remember when 50 Cent's beef with Rick Ross was one of the hottest heavyweight tickets in the rap world? Their lawyers sure do. According to TMZ, 50 is suing the Maybach Music honcho on fairly salacious grounds. Fif claims that it was Ross, not him, who leaked the sex tape starring Lastonia Leviston, Ross' baby mother. Leviston is suing 50 for the emotional distress that the sex tape cause--she claims she was so distraught she even contemplated suicide--but the G-Unit boss is arguing that Ross should cover any judgment against him, because (according to the suit) either Ross or someone from his camp leaked the footage. To back his claim, 50 points to a radio interview from the day before the footage came out, in which Ross suggested a sex tape was coming.

Xavier Donaldson, Rick Ross' attorney released a statement on behalf of Rick Ross:

The recent lawsuit filed by Curtis Jackson against Mr. William Roberts is clearly another attempt to draw attention to his descending entertainment career and one of several desperate, last minute attempts he's made to avoid and deflect legal and financial responsibility for his own actions related to the pending New York City civil trial in which he’s a defendant.

The New York City lawsuit was filed against Curtis Jackson five years ago. Mr. Roberts was neither named as a defendant nor legally joined by Mr. Jackson in that suit. If and/or when Mr. Jackson properly serves Mr. Roberts, we will aggressively address and defend against these frivolous and futile claims.

Both rappers have been remarkably busy of late. In addition to helming the long-awaited G-Unit comeback (the group recently reunited for The Beast Is G-Unit, a new EP), the "In Da Club" superstar is prepping the release of his sixth solo album, Street King Immortal. In 2014, Ross took the unusual step of dropping two studio albums. Though Hood Billionaire only debuted at #6 on the Billboard charts, the first of the two records, Mastermind, was the best-selling album in the country the week of its release.
