If you wade into the Atlanta rap scene, even cautiously, you'll find dozens of artists who are making captivating music without any national profile to speak of. Today (Oct. 23) we get a new set of visuals from two such rappers: 21 Savage has tapped Yung Nudy for "Air It Out," which features some of the heaviest gun usage of any rap video this year. Where such clips sometimes get their gravity from a sort of hyper-realism--"these aren't props"--"Air It Out" instead plays up a slightly cartoonish violence, what with exaggerated flash-bangs and animated title cards. The results are still grisly; already a Gucci Mane collaborator, 21 Savage seems to understand how to balance outlandishness with naturalism. The MC is currently putting the finishing touches on SavageBoomin, his collaboration with Metro Boomin that's expected late this year.
