2017 BET Awards Winners
Tonight (June 25), the annual BET Awards airs live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Though R&B's hottest singers are in the lead with the most nominations, it's likely the dozen or so hip-hop artists vying for the wins will take home awards in several categories.
Big Sean, whose had an amazingly successful 2017 since the release of his I Decided. album in February, is up for two nominations, including Video of the Year for last year's "Bounce Back" visual. Sean Don competes against Drake and Kendrick Lamar for Best Male Hip-Hop artist, along with Future, Chance the Rapper and J. Cole.
The winner for Best New Artist shall be interesting, to say the least, seeing that this year's list is extremely competitive. This year finds ladies Young M.A. and Cardi B going up against former XXL Freshmen 21 Savage and Chance The Rapper, who is set to be honored at tonight's ceremony.
Newcomers Young M.A. and Cardi B are also up for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist. They stand against Missy Elliott, Remy Ma and Nicki Minaj, who have all had major hits within the past year.
Earlier this week a slew of performers were added to the bill, including A$AP Rocky, Swae Lee and French Montana, who all have been praised by fans in recent weeks for their new music. Other rappers who are due to hit the stage later on are Future, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne and XXL's spring cover feature, DJ Khaled.
Check back for the updated winners as they are announced.
