It has been an exciting couple of weeks for the 2016 XXL Freshmen. This year's class includes Oxnard, Calif.’s Anderson .Paak; Atlanta’s 21 Savage; Pompano Beach, Fla.’s Kodak Black; Philadelphia’s Lil Uzi Vert; Cheltenham Township, Pa.’s Lil Dicky; Harlem’s Dave East; Carol City, Fla.’s Denzel Curry; Brooklyn’s Desiigner; Chicago’s G Herbo and our fan-voted 10th Spot winner, ATL’s Lil Yachty.

The diverse lineup created a lot of buzz with their respective freestyles and cyphers. The final videos to be released from this year's class are the roundtable interviews. Each conversation featured the artists speaking about landing a spot on the XXL Freshman cover.

"It’s definitely a real hip-hop institution, the Freshmen cover. It’s so cool," Lil Dicky said in the first roundtable discussion. "Every year, you look at it and it sends the status for hip-hop every year so it’s an honor to be a part of it… For me, a lot of what I do is comedy based, it’s a legitimizer I’d say. A legit stamp."

Lil Yachty and Lil Uzi Vert claimed that the 2016 class was all about flexin' during their interview.

"This might be the most flexin’ class that y’all done had,” Lil Boat told XXL. "Yeah, y’all talkin’ all that freestyle stuff, man, we just flexin," Uzi Vert added.

In the final roundtable talk, G Herbo emphasized how this honor will give the artists all types of new opportunities in their careers.

"I feel like being a XXL Freshman is beneficial, it will really open a lot of doors up and you get to be around different people and a whole another limelight and other exposure that you probably wasn’t exposed to before," he said. "I grew up looking at XXL Magazine, Snoop, Dre down to Meek and so forth. So it’s really just be remember as that."

The roundtables wrap up our content from the 2016 class. Make sure to check out all three interviews and cop the Freshman issue, which is on sale now.
