Man Appears With Gun in Video Footage Before Yung Mazi Shooting
On Dec. 27, Yung Mazi was shot in the chest at an Atlanta Waffle House. Three days ago, on Jan. 13, Atlanta police released a video of a possible shooter, who is still at large.
The surveillance clip, which can be viewed above, shows a man in black clothing carrying a gun through the Buckhead, Atlanta restaurant just before 4:00 a.m. on Dec. 27. Police tell FOX 5 Atlanta that both the shooter and the victim left the scene before law enforcement showed up. Yung Mazi was later identified as the victim at Piedmont Hospital.
Fortunately, Yung Mazi is expected to make a full recovery. “God made me bulletproof,” Mazi tweeted after the incident. The Bread Winners’ Association rapper, who has worked with Kevin Gates and notable ATL artists, has since deleted the post.
It seems that Yung Mazi has a tough time avoiding gunfire. In fact, he named his 2016 mixtape Physical Therapy because he had just been shot and was undergoing treatment. Prior to the Dec. 27 incident, Mazi says he'd gotten shot around 10 total times. He explains he believes he's targeted because he wears expensive jewelry.
