The 15th and final season of American Idol kicks off tomorrow (Jan. 6) and it would appear that at least one hopeful is already a star. Courtesy of E! News, comes the full audition tape for Kanye West, who performs an acapella version of the first verse of "Gold Digger," which just so happens to name drop one of the three Idol judges.

To start things off, judge Keith Urban goes through the motions, saying "Tell us your name, where you're from," and Kanye plays along. "My name is Kanye. I’m from the Southside of Chicago," he says. "And what do you do there, Kanye" Urban asks. "Originally a producer, I always wanted to rap but nobody really believed in me," Kanye says. The judges hold back laughs as they wish him the best of luck with his pursuits.

Outside of the room, Ryan Seacrest is with a pregnant Kim Kardashian who says that she isn't nervous and didn't give Kanye any singing or rapping advice. The whole bit is played for a decent laugh and at a minute and a half, the joke doesn't have much time to wear thin. Kanye noticeably doesn't edit the verse, and perhaps brings something extra out of Jennifer Lopez who mutters "Better f*cking be me," when he says he has an original song with the judge's name in it. Ultimately, Kanye receives his ticket to the next round though it's likely he'll have to bow out of the competition before then.
