Waka Flocka Flame’s Management Order to Pay $501,000 to Man Injured in 2011 Shootout

A man who was shot in Charlotte, North Carolina in 2011 by Waka Flocka Flame’s security guards won $501,000 in a lawsuit on Tuesday.

Waka’s management Mizay Entertainment is ordered to pay Antonio Stukes in compensatory and punitive damages, according to his lawyer, Adam Seifer. WCNC reports the ruling stems from an incident in February 2011 when Stukes approached Waka while he was getting the sound system in his tour bus upgraded.

Waka was outside the store when Stukes pulled up into the parking lot. He was an aspiring rapper and wanted to give Waka his demo CD. But security guards thought it was a robbery and begin shooting. One of the bullets hit Stukes in the shoulder.

Police originally charged Stukes and five other men with attempted armed robbery, conspiracy, and discharged a weapon on public property, but prosecutors dropped the charges because there was no evidence to back it up.

The jury was in favor of Stukes, but will have to decide how much money to give him. “The jury came down in our favor and really hit them hard,” Seifer said. “The facts that were in the evidence showed they essentially shot at my client without provocation”—Eric Diep
