Waka Flocka Flame had a brush with death after his tour bus was riddled with shots in Charlotte, North Carolina yesterday (February 16). According to police reports, some unidentified men pulled up beside the rapper's tour bus and opened fire.

The rapper born Juaquin Malphurs was at Car Stereo Warehouse on Independence Boulevard near Bojangles Coliseum to upgrade his stereo system Wednesday afternoon. A group drove in to the parking lot and unleashed four shots on his bus, Charlotte, NC news network WCNC reports. The rapper's security detail returned fire, wounding one of the assailants on the shoulder, who is recovering in Carolinas Medical Center. The wound was non-life threatening.

Waka's publicist, Kali Bowyer, confirmed the reports to XXLMag.com. "The assailant was shot," says Bowyer, "Waka is fine and so is his the team, they had nothing to do with the situation, this was an isolated incident and the tour bus just happened to be caught in the middle of it."

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officials say they're getting conflicting reports on the shooters, but they're looking for two vehicles that fled the crime scene—an older model, white Land Rover and a newer model, white Dodge. A motive for the crime is still unknown as of press time.

The rapper tweeted that he's in good spirits, following the shooting and concerns about his health. "To my fans N world im good nothing is wrong with my health see yall in Cali for all-star," he wrote. He turned himself in for questioning to police following the incident. He is not a suspect.

Waka Flocka Flame is no stranger to violence. In January of 2010, he was shot in the arm and the shoulder during a botched robbery attempt.

The ATLien is currently out on bail for a separate case in Georgia following a raid of his house. He was charged with drug and weapons possession as well as suspicion of criminal street gang activity, and traffic and probation violations.
