Vince Staples, Lil Yachty and More Get Their Own Sprite Cans
Sprite is avidly increasing their partnership with hip-hop more and more each year, and now the brand is rewarding some rising superstars for their dedication to the brand. Vince Staples, Lil Yachty and more are slated to get their own Sprite cans that will feature their rhymes as part of the brand's Cold Lyrics series.
The Long Beach MC and Atlanta rapper are joined by Vic Mensa, D.R.A.M., Kamaiyah and Kap G—the latter two members of the 2017 XXL Freshman class—for the Summer Sprite Cold Lyrics Series campaign, which will feature their cold-themed lyrics on individualized, special edition cans. While Staples will have the clean version of his "Bitch, you thirsty, please grab a Sprite" bar from his "Norf Norf" record, Lil Boat's can will contain his "’Cause it get cold like Minnesota" line from his hit "Minnesota."
The artists' lyrics will be featured on 16-ounce Sprite cans and 20-ounce Sprite bottles that will be available for a limited time only in nationwide convenience stores and other retail locations. Fans will also have the opportunity to win different prizes between June 26 through Aug. 28 when they purchase the limited edition cans and bottles. Each can and bottle will feature a bottle cap code that can be scanned with a mobile device on Sprite's website.
This is far from the first time that both Staples and Yachty have worked with Sprite, as the Big Fish Theory MC was previously part of the brand's Obey Your Thirst campaign last year, while the "Broccoli" entertainer did a Sprite commercial with LeBron James earlier this year.
Sprite has worked in the past with plenty of hip-hop stars, including the likes of Drake, Nas, J. Cole, Missy Elliott and Rakim. They even worked with A Tribe Called Quest, as well as Pete Rock & CL Smooth back in the 1990s.
