Tyler, The Creator is an artist in every sense of the word, and he proved it once again with another awesome turn on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Wednesday night (Sept. 27). Taking the stage with a dark peach sunset background and a small orchestra, Tyler performed his Kali Uchis-assisted Flower Boy cut, "See You Again."

The track itself is a mesmerizing one that finds Tyler and Uchis singing their heart out over gorgeous instrumentation. "20/20, 20/20 vision/Cupid hit me, cupid hit me with precision, I/Wonder if you look both ways/When you cross my mind, I said, I said/I'm sick of, sick of, sick of, sick of chasing/You're the one that's always running through my day dreams, I/I can only see your face when I close my eyes," they croon over the live version of the dreamy instrumental.

It's a smooth song that Tyler hadn't originally planned on using for himself. He revealed as much in a few tweets from this past summer. "See You Again" was actually supposed to be for Zayn Malik.

“‘See you again’ is getting played on a few stations, awesome, hope i catch it at some point,” he started. “Fun fact: i wrote ‘see you again’ for zayn but that bitch flaked on studio time twice, so i kept the ref for myself, worked out actually.” Pretty crazy stuff. Ultimately, though, we're glad Tyler kept it.
