Joey Badass jumped out the window on his latest single "Ready" when, at the end of the track, he goes, "With the 80/20 split do the math, my nigga Kirk Knight just outsold Troy Ave." Now the BSB rapper has responded on a new song called "Bad Ass" taking shots at Joey and the deceased Capital Steez.

"You's a filthy backpack rapper out a thrift shop, drug addict face, what's on your junky head," asks Troy on the first verse. Unlike the ending line on Joey's song, Troy's entire song is dedicated to denigrating the Pro Era rapper for reasons like not getting played on the radio, not getting played in the hood, and having an identity crisis. He even says the deceased Capital Steez can "burn in hell."

Recently, Troy was in the headlines for his lackluster album sales. He went on Breakfast Club and defended those figures, dropping quotables like, "What have I done? I saved a whole generation of people from being drug addicts, and turning up, & wearing tight pants" "What have I done? I saved a whole generation of people" and "I'm the one who put it out there that you can't mix & match brands. I put that out there. being drug addicts, and turning up, & wearing tight pants."

Troy also posted the following message to Instagram after taking criticism for the diss track, specifically the references to the late Capital Steez:
