Trial and Era Want to Find Out “Wantchu 2 Know”
After a 26 hour-long road trip to SXSW, NYC rap trio Trial & Era recorded their latest offering in the car using their DJ's laptop. Today they finally dropped the official version of the song titled "Wantchu 2 Know." The record (unmastered and unrehearsed) was debuted via a live performance during their set at SOB's 33rd Anniversary show in Austin, Texas. Packaged with an exclusive artwork designed by Harlem's graphic artist MGS175 that's part of a collaboration series, the song—now mastered and available on Trial & Era's soundcloud—is a fun banger that will get you bouncing.
"Girl I just want you to know, want you to know/Girl I just want you to know, want you to know/This shit moving like hella slow, like hella slow/This shit moving like hella slow, like hella slow," is the hook. Listen tot Trial & Era's new song above. We spoke to the Arah Bars, Money FitzGerald and Juss T about the record via email.
XXL: Tell me about "Wantchu 2 Know" and what do y'all have planned for 2016?
Arah Bars: The song speaks for anyone focused on a goal but is in a situation that isn't paying off. A situation that is not progressive towards the goal.
Money FitzGerald: It's a one sided conversation between us and this figurative girl, think Common's "I Used to Love H.E.R."
Juss T: Next up is the video, we want to let people see what they're listening to but the overall plan is to keep doing more, keep doing better; Trial & Era, the pursuit of progress.
