2006: J-Bo and Sean Paul, known collectively as the Youngbloodz, found themselves in some very hot legal water when they were arrested for drug and weapons charges.

According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, police pulled over the ATL rap duo's tour bus in Columbus, Ga. because it had an expired Florida license plate. After smelling the stench of marijuana from outside of the vehicle, police conducted a search that led to the discovery of two loaded handguns and 11 baggies of weed. From there, the two rappers and their 12-person crew were arrested and booked for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Speaking on the matter, then-Jive Records spokeperson Tice Merriweather proclaimed the Youngbloodz's innocence. “The guys have never had any trouble with the law," he explained at the time. "They are completely innocent and they will be exonerated from these charges.”

The Youngbloodz, whose collaborations with Lil Jon and others had considerable chart success in the 2000s, were released from jail on June 2. Months later, on Jan.11, 2007, the two rappers pled not guilty to the drug and weapons charges leveled against them.
