Tech N9ne Earns First Platinum Plaque for “Caribou Lou” Record
Tech N9ne has made an outstanding name for himself through his music, as well as his exceptional entrepreneurial skills in the industry, and now he's reaping even more rewards. The Strange Music founder has earned his first platinum plaque for his "Caribou Lou" single, which has sold over one million copies.
According to the Recording Industry Association of America, the iconic song, which is an ode to one of the rapper's signature cocktails, went certified gold back in 2012, and finally reached platinum status as of June 20, 2017. The track comes off of N9ne's Everready (The Religion) album from 2006, with the artist writing on social media that it would be the "first of many."
"Fuckin great to wake to!" Tech N9ne wrote on Instagram.
It's already been a busy year for Tech N9ne and his Strange Music label, as the rapper released his Dominion album back in May. The project followed in the footsteps of his previously released The Storm album that he dropped back in 2016. The rapper has been pushing his Strange Music imprint to the max over the last year, which he and partner Travis O'Guin founded all the way back in 1999.
Hopefully N9ne can earn himself another platinum plaque in the near future, but for now, this is definitely a great feat for him.
