One of California's very finest is going major. Today (Feb. 14), the folks at Warner Bros. Records announce Saweetie as their latest signee after the talented 24-year-old artist inked a major deal for herself and her ICY label imprint.

Saweetie hasn't been on the scene for too, too long, but by the end of 2017, her song "ICY GRL" had already built her a sizable buzz. That's something Warner Bros. COO & Co-Chairman Tom Corson recognized from the jump.

“You know you have something special when an artist immediately connects in the way Saweetie has,” says Corson. “Saweetie’s empowering lyrics, street-smart sensibilities and flawless delivery have perfectly collided to make ‘ICY GRL’ a viral sensation and Saweetie an artist to champion. Huge thanks to our partner Max Gousse and Warner’s own Eesean Bolden for bringing Saweetie to us. We’re thrilled to help bring her unique talent to the masses.”

As Corson says, Saweetie is on her way. Speaking to XXL for The Break late last year, the Bay Area native explained her music industry goals, and it feels safe to say this new deal will help her on that end. "My goal in music is to share my story," she revealed. "I feel like we don’t have that many storytellers nowadays.

She continued, "I don’t want to be super serious but I want to have fun with my platform. I want to touch people, I want to be relatable and let girls know that you can go to college and still pursue what you want after that. I didn’t want to go to college. I went to college because I didn’t have a plan but I feel like I want to share my victories and my problems through my music and hopefully that can help other people. No matter what you’re going through, you can further your life and your career."

Saweetie will showcase more of her storytelling skills when her debut EP, a project she's hard at work on as we speak, drops on March 16. The EP will feature production from the likes of No I.D,. London On Da Track, Zaytoven, Da Internz, Cash Money AP, and JWhitedidit. She's also set to tour nationally throughout 2018.

Stay tuned, and while you're at it, check out her video for "Focus."
