Hip-hop legends Russell Simmons and LL Cool J are making a point to give back to the community after finding so much success in the game. On Thursday, the two visited New York City's Rikers Island jail to mark the launch of a national anti-violence program. Simmons' "Keep The Peace" initiative is centered around giving grants to neighborhood organizations. One of those organizations is Queens' LIFE Camp, an organization that works with young people, including those at Rikers, to reduce violence.

During the visit to Rikers, LL Cool J spoke on his own rough upbringing and encouraged the members of the audience to believe in themselves. "You can absolutely without a doubt do anything you can put your mind to," said LL.
