Rich Homie Quan is temporarily stepping away from Birdman and Rich Gang so he can focus on his solo career. Coming off a nine-day tour in Canada, Quan took a break to chop it up with The Durtty Boyz on Atlanta's Hot 107.9. During an off-air break, Homie Quan told ET and Stuey that he's "stepped away from the Rich Gang a little bit just to get back to Quan." He made it a point to say that things with Birdman and the crew are cool "for the moment," so who knows what that means for future collaborations. Quan's decision to step away from Rich Gang doesn't seem to be anything personal, as he's just trying to work on his own music. He also dished on his upcoming mixtape, saying it will feature all original music, basically serving as a free album to fans. "It's time for Atlanta and the world to know that Quan has improved," said RHQ. "And this new sound here, I feel as if I can't lose. I feel as if I have me a Grammy bro, that's on everything."

In addition to working on his own tracks, Quan is really trying to expand his brand overall, telling The Durrty Boyz that he's gained a lot of knowledge since he got his break in the industry and wants to use that to continue to improve as an artist. Before heading out, he previewed two new tracks at the station, which we will hopefully hear on the upcoming EP. Watch the full interview above. Quan told XXL last December that he wants his album to drop at the "top of second quarter, maybe May."

Despite this bombshell a new song by Quan with Young Thug leaked on the web. Check out "My Homie" below.
