61 Rappers Who Have Compared Themselves to Tupac Shakur
It seems like every rapper, at some point in their career, goes through their own "Tupac Shakur moment." In 2015, already we've seen it with Kendrick Lamar's extended conversation with 'Pac at the end of To Pimp a Butterfly's "Mortal Man," Boosie BadAzz's "Letter to 'Pac," Meek Mill's "All Eyes on You" and "Ambitionz" off Dreams Worth More Than Money and plenty more. And while Tupac is rightly held up as a titan in the game, comparing yourself to such a legendary MC is both bold and a little ballsy, considering all that the former Death Row rapper stood for during his short lifetime.
And yet, plenty of rappers have gone down that path, from established vets like Rick Ross, Eminem, Ghostface Killah and Redman to younger MCs like Migos, Young Thug, Casey Veggies and Chief Keef. As Tupac's name continues to ring out throughout the hip-hop universe, XXL takes a look at 61 rappers who have compared themselves to Tupac. —Dan Rys
