After Kim Kardashian updated fans on last week's G.O.O.D. Fridays drop, saying that a flight to Italy was the reason Kanye West hadn't released the second installment in his recently relaunched weekly series, Yeezy followed through on Monday morning (Jan. 18), with the official audio for "No More Parties in L.A." with Kendrick Lamar. The song was originally teased two Fridays ago when Kanye dropped "Real Friends" with Ty Dolla $ign.

Produced by Madlib, the new track is believed to have originated from Kanye's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy sessions back in 2009/2010. Madlib had mentioned in a previous interview that he gave Kanye five beats for the album, and a Stones Throw documentary reveals some of what turns out to be Kanye's verse here. Madlib had theorized in a separate interview that Kanye either didn't want to pay him his fee or simply decided not to use the instrumentals then.

As for that verse though, it's an added return to more straightforward rapping from Kanye, whose most recent studio album, 2013's Yeezus sought to break and defy genre convention. On the track, he raps, “When I get on my Steve Jobs, somebody gon get fired/I was uninspired since Lauryn Hill retired/And 3 stacks, man you preaching to the choir.”

Kendrick is his usually charged-up self, rapping about his home turf. "She said she came out here to find an A-list rapper/I said baby spin around and say that alphabet backwards/You’re dealing with malpractice/Don’t kill a good nigga's confidence just cause he nerd and you don’t know what a condom is," he rhymes.

The track is the first time Kendrick and Kanye have recorded together, with the two having shared a bill during 2013's Yeezus tour. A New York Times Magazine article about the tour revealed that there wasn't much co-mingling between the two rappers, who weren't even in the same room together until three weeks in. "No More Parties in L.A." then serves as a larger musical union between the two and helps give a bit of context to the track, which likely lived in Kanye's back pocket since those MBDTF session. Listen to the latest G.O.O.D. Friday Monday offering above and be on the look out as Kanye leaks more new music leading up to the Feb. 11 release date of Swish.
