There's been something off about T.I.'s career trajectory. He recovered from the federal gun charges and the endless stream of legal entanglements that followed. with a handful of high-profile pop collaborations, Tip went from reliable rap hitmaker to a fixture on Top 40. But in the process, he intermittently left the roots that made him so beloved in Atlanta and with rap fans nationwide in the middle 2000s. One person who's been partly responsible for reigning him back in is Young Thug; the pair collaborated on "About the Money," the standout cut from last year's Paperwork that helped get Clifford back on the good sides of critics and fans. Thug appears alongside T.I.'s former protege Young Dro on "Peanut Butter Jelly" from the new surprise EP, Da'Nic. But the first video from that set is a solo cut, the blistering "Check, Run It." Falling paper currency, rolling hi-hats and fire, three of hip-hop's essential elements, get plenty of screen time.
