Hey, we were right. Pusha T’s debut solo album, My Name Is My Name, will not be dropping on its current release date of July 16. Amid speculation that the album would not hit shelves in mid July, the Virginia MC recently chopped it up with Power 88’s Danny Diaz and revealed the album is now projected come out sometime in August. “It’s not gone drop on the 16th. We gone push it back a month," he said. "It’s been a lot of music coming out. You got the [Kan]Ye album, the [J.] Cole album, the Wale. I think Hov’s dropping even on the 4th,” he explained as one reason why the album’s release date was pushed back. “At the end of the day, I still stand my ground. That’s politics and logistics. My album is the best album of the year.”

The Clipse member’s anticipated debut solo release will include beats from Pharrell, Swizz Beatz, Nottz, Kanye and The Dream. Kendrick Lamar, Rick Ross, Jeezy, Wale and Future will make appearances on the LP. According to Push, when it does drop, it will definitely be well received. “I think the streets are going to have a classic hip-hop album,” said P. “My Name is My Name is definitely the hardest album that’s going to come out this year for sure.”
