Playboi Carti Teases New Project at Seattle Concert
Playboi Carti has plenty of new music on the way. Last night (Nov .7), the 2017 XXL Freshman hit up the Showbox SoDo in Seattle, Wash. for his Neon tour stop, and blessed the crowd with an exclusive preview of his upcoming project, Whole Lotta Red. According to videos posted by a fan in the crowd, the "Magnolia" rapper played two unreleased songs that give off completely different vibes.
In one video, Carti keeps the crowd hype while the club banger plays and the stage is dominated by the light from crimson red visuals. The next video shows a much somber record with booming bass that goes hard AF.
Despite showing up on Lil Yachty's Nuthin 2 Prove album recently, the brief previews of his new music are the first soundbites we've heard since he dropped his debut album, Die Lit, earlier this year.
The clips of Carti's new solo joints also comes three months after he revealed the title of his album in an Instagram story, and said that he has at least 100 songs with Lil Uzi Vert in the stash. Last year, both Carti and Uzi Vert were rumored to be cooking up a joint mixtape. Although they've dropped bangers like "Bankroll," there's still no confirmation on the status of their project.
Along with being on tour until December, Carti has been doing more than just popping up at concerts and festivals. Recently, Carti linked up with YG to star in 4Hunnid's Late to School campaign. Last month (Oct. 15), the "Big Bank" rapper debuted his brand’s latest collection, Late to School, and recruited Playboi Carti to post up alongside him in the campaign’s accompanying lookbook.
