Last week, the rap world mourned the loss of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, with Playboi Carti even chiming in with some graphics to pay homage to the publishing legend. Today (Oct. 2), Carti took it a step farther by releasing what sounds like a snippet of a new song that he says produced himself, though Pierre Bourne says he actually produced it and Carti added drums. You can peep it below.

The snippet is only 39 seconds long and sounds like the intro to an unreleased song. Carti doesn't rap on the track, but you can hear him and Lil Uzi Vert talking over the beat. The snippet, which he posted on Twitter, also comes with a video featuring spliced footage of Carti and Hefner.

A couple weeks ago, Carti and Uzi, friends and musical collaborators, teased the world with the possibility of a joint mixtape. Then, the other day, Carti tweeted another hint that the tape was on the way. We have no clue what's coming, but we're preparing our bodies anyway.

Peep how others within hip-hop paid tribute to Hugh Hef and listen to Carti's new snippet below.
