Following news that the T.I. show at Irving Plaza was cut short tonight (May 25) after shots rang out backstage, CBS New York is reporting that one of the gun shot victims has died, with an additional three more victims wounded. Shots were fired around 10 p.m. according to Chief of Manhattan South Detectives William Aubry, with the shooting taking place in a third-floor green room before T.I. had taken the stage.

CBS quotes officials as saying that a 34-year-old man was shot in the chest and a 33-year-old man was shot in the abdomen. Aubry meanwhile has confirmed that one of the men was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital. Additionally, a 26-year-old woman was shot in the left leg but is expected to survive, while another man who was also shot found his way to NYU Langone Medical Center, though his condition was not known.

Aubry said that as of midnight Thursday morning, no one had been arrested, and that police have recovered ballistic evidence and the crime scene search would continue early Thursday.

CBS captures the hysteria following the shooting through witness interviews, with one man saying, "We had no idea where it was coming from, so we just were running out for the exit, you know, anywhere we possibly could.” This is no doubt a tragic turn of events and all condolences are extended to the family of the lost.
