Late last week, Desiigner had a run-in with the law after a reported road rage incident led to the rapper's SUV being searched. After police found a bag of loose pills, what would later be identified as steroids, Designer was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of drugs with intent to sell and criminal possession of a loaded weapon and menacing, though the intent to sell and gun charges were later dropped.

Desiigner's legal team is now calling the arrest an act of racial profiling, what the NYPD says is a baseless accusation considering the Brooklyn rapper committed a crime. An NYPD official tells TMZ that race could not have been the motivating factor for the arrest since the man who first reported the road rage incident to 911 is Hispanic. "There was a male Hispanic complainant who said he was menaced with a black firearm from individuals in the car. There was no targeting of him because he was black, NYPD arrested him because he committed a crime," the official said.

Either way, the recent turn of events, with charges getting dropped and the loose pills, what once were thought to be OxyContin, now identified as steroids, are good signs for Desiigner, who was arrested in front of a Times Square Foot Locker on Sept. 8. Perhaps the high profile arrest coupled with the high foot traffic neighborhood in which it took place led to a greater spectacle than was necessary, though as more details emerge, it seems like Desiigner will be more or less off the hook for this one.
