The 2012 USA Basketball team was officially announced on Saturday (July 7th) and the roster features some familiar faces; Lebron James, Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant and Blake Griffin are all part of the star-studded squad tapped to defend the 2008 Gold Medal, and to do so, Nike will once again provide the gear.

Nike has released a series of athletic apparel and shoes to celebrate and support the USA Basketball Team. Available online are the new Hyperelite uniforms made from Aerographics which, according to Nike, is “a super-light fabric that helps make this our lightest national team uniform ever." The uniforms are also made from 98% recycled polyester.

But the highlight of the new-and-improved uniforms are the new sneakers. The Lebron 9 low is getting a USA-themed colorway and there is also a new Lebron inspired Zoom Soldier VI. Following suit is the Kobe VII, a Durant Zoom KD IV and a new shoe called the Nike Air Max Aggressor, each available in patriotic colors. At the forefront, however, is the Nike Hyperdunk + that will be worn by Lebron James during the London games. These are the shoes that track player movement, including speed, vertical leap and quickness. The Hyperdunk is now available as a Nike ID, which means fanatics can create their own unique pairs.

Nike also released several retro sneakers and items to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the original Dream Team. Some of these classic sneakers include the Jordan Olympic 6, The Nike Air More Uptempo and the Nike Air Force 180 —all available for purchase on Nike.com. The Dream Team is also getting its own Destroyer Jacket that features several nods to the greatest basketball team ever assembled and will be available soon.
