Nicki Minaj’s Original Verse on Fergie’s New Song “You Already Know” Included a Meek Mill Reference
It looks like Nicki Minaj had a change of heart after her heart was no longer with Meek Mill and decided to change up a sweet line she'd penned about her former beau on the new Fergie track, "You Already Know."
The new duet dropped on Friday (Aug. 25), but an unfinished version leaked in July. According to US Weekly, the older version had a line where the Young Money MC lamented about being away from Meek. “Damn, I ain’t seen Meek Mill-y in a week,” she rapped.
Apparently, the song was done before the infamous break up back in January. So, for the official version, Nicki decided to switch things up, replacing the reference to the Dreamchasers rapper with, “Damn, they ain’t seen young Nicki in a week.” The final version will be on Fergie's upcoming solo project, Double Dutchess.
Nicki has moved on after a lengthy (as far as industry relationships go) time dating Meek, but at least publicly she hasn't selected a new boo. Back in May, it was rumored that Nicki and Nas were a thing. But that doesn't appear to be the case now.
While fans wait patiently for her next solo album, Nicki has stayed busy, recently featuring on songs with Yo Gotti ("Rake It Up") and Future ("You Da Baddest"). She has also teased a new collab with Quavo of the Migos.
