LeBron James has released an apology for his Instagram post that included some21 Savage lyrics that perpetuate Jewish stereotypes.

“Apologies, for sure, if I offended anyone,” LeBron told ESPN after his Lakers lost to the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday (Dec. 23). "That’s not why I chose to share that lyric. I always [post lyrics]. That’s what I do. I ride in my car, I listen to great music, and that was the byproduct of it."

“So I actually thought it was a compliment, and obviously it wasn’t through the lens of a lot of people," he continued. "My apologies. It definitely was not the intent, obviously, to hurt anybody."

The controversy began when Los Angeles Lakers star posted lyrics from 21 Savage’s I Am > I Was  song “ASMR” onto his Instagram story. "We been getting that Jewish money/Everything is Kosher,” reads the passage LBJ posted.

There is no word if the NBA will fine LeBron, who has 45.8 million Instagram followers.
