In a year filled with jams, there must be one that stands head and shoulders above the rest. Most people don't even want to try to make this decision, but MTV accepted the challenge. At the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards, Song of the Year goes to Post Malone and 21 Savage's "Rockstar."

Post Malone was already blowing up before the song hit, but the 21 Savage-assisted "Rockstar" shot him to the stratosphere. The catchy, country-tinged song helped turn Post Malone into a household name, kicking off a stretch of chart dominance that has yet to let up.

Once Post and 21 got on stage to receive the award, they were both thankful. Post couldn't remember his speech and decided to just come from the heart, while 21 Savage kept it simple and thanked Zone 6, the section of Atlanta that he came up in.

Even with the win, the other contenders were all worthwhile competition. Drake's "God's Plan," Camila Cabello and Young Thug's "Havana," Bruno Mars and Cardi B's "Finesse" remix were all in the mix. In addition to all of the songs that include rappers, pop songstress Dua Lipa's "New Rules" and singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran's "Perfect" were formidable opponents.

In addition to his big win, Post Malone has plenty to look forward to. He recently announced Posty Fest, his very own festival, headlined by Travis Scott. It's also become clear that he and Mac Miller have some songs in the stash.
