ASAP Rocky Stars in New Mercedes-Benz Commercial

A$AP Rocky is the star of Mercedes-Benz's dramatic new commercial, which puts the focus on the murder of his older brother Ricky, and the rapper's subsquent rise to stardom in the world of hip-hop.

The commercial lasts just under two-and-a-half minutes and features a steady table-top drum beat as the soundtrack to Rocky's narrative about choices, their consequences and the inspiration his brother gave him as a child.

At first it's Rocky's brother making the table-top beat as Rocky listens on. The commercial  shifts between scenes detailing his life as a kid looking up to his brother and Rocky's life as a rap star--one which sees him leaning up against a new Mercedes-Benz.

Toward the end of the video, Rick is killed during what looks like a robbery gone bad, and the table-top beat stops. In the commercial Rocky describes the moment the beat--presumably meaning music--came back. "My brother moved on but...the beat came back, pulsing through every vein in my body."

The beat continues and Rocky reveals that his brother was the person responsible for pushing him to be a rapper. Ricky appears onscreen once more, making a table-top beat and telling Rocky to "go for it" and rap himself. Obviously, Rocky ended up doing much more than that.
