As the founder of Cutthroat Records, Joey Fatts has gone from homeless and sleeping in his car to building a loyal fanbase and touring all over the country. On his new I'll Call You Tomorrow mixtape, Joey brings along Vince Staples, Playboi Carti and Lil Yachty for guest appearances on the 11-track effort.

Along with being a gifted lyricist, Fatts is also an accomplished producer, having scored placements on multiple Curren$y projects, A$ton Matthews' A$ton 3:16 and A$AP Rocky'Long.Live.A$AP, amongst others. On I'll Call You Later, the Long Beach, CA native hands off beatmaking duties to Prezident Jeff, Chef Byer, 100Staccs, Teddy Walton and the Mekanicss.

Mentored by the late A$AP Yams, Fatts has come a long way in a short time. Last year, the rapper stopped by the XXL office and told us how he got linked up with the A$AP crew.

"I've only been rapping and producing since December 2012 and I did like three songs but the first song I did was a 'Pretty Flacko' remix when it first came out. I guess they heard it, but not really. But I did a song called 'Trill Bitch' with A$AP Ant. I was really tryna get it to Rocky 'cause I was like, 'Yo, Rocky would love this shit,' but Ant wanted to jump on it. And Ant was the one who really broke me to them and after that Yams followed me on Twitter and he DM'd me like, 'Yo, I wanna manage you.' He flew out to L.A. the following week and that's when I met Filth and all of them. Yams was managing me for a minute, that was my guy, my right hand man. He taught me everything I know about the industry. That's why I'm not signed nowhere, 'cause I know everything already. I just know how the game works now, I've been here for two years and I've been an apprentice, an understudy to Yams while he was here. I see shit for how it is now and I'm ready to work, ready to take over."

With a new project out, expect Joey to hit the road sometime in 2016.
