Jacquees Releases ‘Mood’ Mixtape Featuring Dej Loaf, Birdman and Rich Homie Quan

After much anticipation, R&B crooner Jacquees drops off his new mixtape, Mood. The singer gifts fans with a healthy serving of his melodic grooves to enjoy for the rest of the winter and beyond.

Running 16 tracks deep, Mood showcases the Decatur, Ga. native's silky vocals and meshes the rugged and sexual stylings of an H-Town resident with the Auto-Tune warbling that is all the rage today. Featuring guest appearances from the likes of Dej Loaf, Birdman, Kevin Gates, Young Scooter, Rich Homie Quan and Kirko Bangz, Mood has its share of co-stars, but is very much centered around showcasing the vocal talents of Jacquees.

"I'm thinking of ways, been thinking for days / Can we do something different, Girl you see the difference 'tween me and them lanes," Jacquees belts out on the Mood opener, "New Wave," which serves as the calm before the storm that is the singer's coming out party of a project. Standout cuts include "B.E.D.," "Ready," "Pandora" and "R&B Nigga," all of which display the best of what Jacquees has to offer.

The newest addition to Cash Money/Rich Gang, Jacquees is looking to finally step into the limelight after biding his time playing the back. Emerging in 2001 with his first offering, an EP titled I Am Jacquees, and following that up with the mixtape, Round of Applause, Jacquees slowly built a name for himself before catching the eyes of Cash Money, who scooped him up and christened him with a recording contract and management deal. Since his alliance with the house that Baby built, Jacquees has made himself useful whenever the opportunity has presented itself, lending his talents to tracks from Rich Homie Quan ("Come Thru") and Juvenile ("Bout It"), among others.

Mood is Jacquees' first full-length release since unleashing the latest edition in his Quemix series in January of 2015. Jacquees is currently chiseling away at his debut album, Lost at Sea, which has no release date. But if this project is any indication, we'll be hearing plenty more from Jacquees, sooner than later.
